Under the Harvest Moon: Lauren Decker Contralto

Words by Kiel Thedford | Photos by Andrew Standaert

This weekend we were privileged to spend time again in Princeton, with the ever-growing wealth of friendship we have been offered in the warm halo of our friends Matt and Greg, where we were again offered a literal seat at the table amongst richly-conversational folks, as Matt prepared an unbelievable seasonal dinner for the group, before we all migrated across the street to see a beautiful vocal program.

I was immersed in so much textbook Wisco hospitality and camaraderie, witnessing an entire evening of so many people contributing their talents, enthusiasm, grace, and soul to an entire night of creative expression and soul-glowing cup filling.

Lauren's program was warm and rich, orienting my soul deeply into Fall mode, and she shared the stage with so many others who brought their own starry glow to weave a heavy autumnal blanket to wrap us all up.

“…an entire evening of so many people contributing their talents, enthusiasm, grace, and soul to an entire night of creative expression and soul-glowing cup filling.”

I never could've wished for any of this - the place and setting, the inspiration, the affirmation, the belonging, nor, most of all, the beautiful souls I have been privileged to connect with. The world is alright out there, because of people like Matt and Greg who foster this kind of living every single day. It is a gift to feel like family through every door I walk and with every hand I shake in this place.

Thankful for the gifts that every person involved in this evening brought to a beautifully crowded table.
